Greene County has an official recent-release view, but the Sheriff does not offer a control labeled “72 Hours.” The direct Greene County JailTracker provides Released in Last choices of seven days and 30 days. The seven-day result contains the most recent three-day period, so a 72-hour review requires date inspection within that broader set.
Start by choosing a precise cutoff. A rolling 72-hour period runs back from the current time, while “the last three dates” can cover a different span. The public grid supplies a release-date concept, but a precise hour may require the underlying Sheriff release sheet. A booking that ended near the cutoff should not be assigned to the window based on guesswork.
A result means that Greene County Jail ended its custody for that booking. It may reflect release to the community after bond, court action, a hold expiration, time served, or sentence completion. It may also reflect transfer to the Missouri Department of Corrections, another local jail, the U.S. Marshals Service, ICE, a hospital, or another custodian. Destination must be checked before calling every listed event a return home.
The three-day span also should stay tied to the release date, not the book date. A person booked earlier may still belong in the review if the booking ended within the cutoff, while a new booking with no release date belongs in the active-custody check.

- Open the detail record for available charge, bond, hold, case, or agency context, without assuming every optional field is populated.
- Ask the Sheriff’s Records Division for the booking/release sheet when the exact release time, type, or receiving custodian is needed.

A saved list of names should not replace a fresh search. The official results can change, while a copied list loses the booking context needed to tell one event from another. Reopen Released mode, repeat the date comparison, and preserve the booking or case identifiers needed for a focused records request. This approach also avoids treating an old three-day snapshot as proof of a person’s present location.
These windows also affect absence findings. A person may be absent because the spelling differs, the release falls outside the chosen range, the entry has not updated, or another agency handled the booking. Republic Police, for example, does not operate a jail. A station release there may never enter Greene County JailTracker, while a transfer from Republic to Greene County Jail is not a community release.
Released, Transferred, or Still in Custody
Three statuses must be kept separate. Current Only indicates active Greene County Jail custody as reflected by the roster. Released indicates that a particular Greene County booking ended. Transfer means that the county booking ended because another custodian took control, so the person may remain confined.
