Greene County Release Date Meaning
A projected date is a planning or sentence field. An actual release date records when a named custodian ended custody. Those dates can match, but they need not. Greene County Jail may hold someone before trial, on a short sentence, for another agency, or while paperwork is processed. A court event can authorize release without fixing the hour when Sheriff Jim Arnott's detention staff completes it. A state sentence can carry minimum, maximum, conditional-release, and parole concepts that answer different questions.
A pretrial detainee normally has no sentence-based projected release date. Bond, recognizance, an investigating-agency decision, a judge's order, a capias, or an added hold may control what happens next. By contrast, a sentenced MODOC prisoner has calculated sentence fields, although the Missouri Parole Board and statutory minimums can affect when community release becomes possible. The final door-exit date remains subject to lawful changes.
Find a Greene County Release Date
Start with the system that owns the custody record. The Greene County Sheriff roster gateway leads to a Released search for recent county-jail exits. It is not a release calculator. The underlying Sheriff booking and release sheet is the stronger record for the time, reason, and receiving custodian when those facts are maintained.
- Confirm whether the person is at Greene County Jail, a MODOC institution, or the federal medical center in Springfield. Do not use a county roster for a state or federal sentence.
- For a recent county event, select Released in JailTracker, check the release-date entry, and compare the name, booking date, case, and booking identifiers.
- For a county sentence or pending case, review Missouri Case.net for the public judgment, sentence, bond order, or later docket order. The docket explains legal authority, not the exact door time.
- For an active state prisoner, use the MODOC Offender Web Search, match the person carefully, and determine whether the assigned place reflects prison or field supervision.
- If MODOC supervision has ended, use the historical offender data and Sunshine request path. The active search expressly excludes discharged offenders.
- Ask the institution, field officer, jail, or records custodian to confirm a date that affects immediate plans. A database field alone cannot resolve a hold or late change.
The full county release-record and named-person path is covered on the Greene County released inmates search. Use it when the key question is whether someone already left custody, not when a sentence might permit a future exit.
Note: A person missing from Current Only may have transferred, so roster absence does not establish a Greene County community release.
Greene County Jail Date Factors
Greene County has no published jail good-time formula and no single projected-release calculator. That absence matters. MODOC earned-compliance and conditional-release rules should not be copied into a county sentence. For a definite misdemeanor term, RSMo §558.011 governs the court's commitment for that term or until another lawful release procedure applies. The court, jail, and any other holding agency remain the sources for a case-specific answer.
The Sheriff documents several operational time frames, but each serves a narrow purpose. A temporary investigative hold may run from arrest, while a DWI hold may follow a shorter period unless medical needs or another charge changes it. Cash-only or surety paperwork can also take time after payment. None of these examples converts a pending Greene County case into a fixed release appointment. A capias requires court action, and another warrant or transfer order can prevent community release.
The Sheriff Detention FAQ is the best public source for current local processing rules. Ask the jail at (417) 868-4048 about a time-sensitive custody check, while recognizing that staff may limit case details. For a formal record, contact the Records Division at (417) 868-4042 and request the booking and release sheet.
MODOC Greene County Sentence Dates
Missouri separates an active offender search from its historical Sunshine data. The active search includes people in prison and people still on probation or parole. It does not provide information on discharged offenders. A person absent from that search may have completed supervision, may be excluded for another lawful reason, or may not match the spelling used. Absence is not a calculated release date.
The documented MODOC historical offender data supplies the clearest definitions for sentence-date fields. It may contain more than one charge row for one DOC ID, so concurrent and consecutive sentences must be read together. Special all-numeric values can stand for life, indeterminate or interstate sentences, and certain court-ordered assessments. Those codes are not dates.
| Field | What it means | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Sentence Maximum Release Date | The maximum release or expiration date for that sentence record. | The exact community-release hour or the end of all other holds. |
| Sentence-I Minimum Release Date | A calculated minimum date on the active sentence. | An automatic parole grant or guaranteed exit date. |
| Sentence completed flag | Completion at the charge or sentence-record level. | That every separate sentence or supervision term ended. |
| Assigned place | The institution or supervision assignment recorded by MODOC. | That a field assignment marks the precise day prison custody ended. |
The manifest image matched to this topic comes from the official MODOC Sunshine page.
Its field documentation is the right source for minimum and maximum labels, while the actual release still requires a case-level check.
Greene County Conditional Release Rules
For many non-dangerous Missouri felony sentences, §558.011 divides the term between prison and conditional release. Terms of nine years or less generally place one-third in conditional release. Terms over nine through 15 years generally use three years. Terms over 15 years generally use five years. The prison term is the remainder. These statutory divisions do not apply as a simple county-jail calculation, and they do not erase other limits that govern a specific person.
Conditional release is supervised. It is not the same as discharge. The Missouri Parole Board may extend the conditional-release date up to the full sentence after the statutory process for institutional rule violations. A projected date can therefore move later. Parole is also distinct: it is a discretionary Board release that keeps the person in MODOC legal custody while supervised in the community.
- Minimum release date
- A calculated sentence field or eligibility point, not a promise.
- Conditional release
- A supervised part of certain prison terms under Missouri law.
- Parole
- A discretionary supervised release ordered by the Missouri Parole Board.
- Discharge
- The end of MODOC supervision, which differs from leaving an institution.
Note: A parole hearing can lead to a future date or another hearing, and neither result proves immediate Greene County release.
Greene County Minimum Term Limits
RSMo §558.019 sets minimum prison terms for specified people. A dangerous felony under the current statutory definition generally carries an 85-percent minimum before parole, conditional release, or another early DOC release, subject to the statute's age-related alternative. That percentage is an eligibility floor. It does not promise release at exactly 85 percent.
The same section describes minimums tied to qualifying prior prison commitments for certain non-dangerous felonies: 40 percent for one prior commitment, 50 percent for two unrelated prior commitments, and 80 percent for three or more unrelated prior commitments, subject to the current law and case facts. Applying any percentage requires the actual offense, sentence, prior-commitment history, and any consecutive terms. A rough calculation from a news report or docket label can be wrong.
Why Greene County Release Dates Change
A date can change because a sentence calculation is only one part of custody. The source of the change also determines whom to call. Greene County Jail can explain local processing and recorded holds. MODOC can address an institutional calculation or supervision assignment. The court record controls new orders, while the Parole Board controls its own decision.
| Change | Possible effect | Best verification source |
|---|---|---|
| Institutional rule violation | Conditional release may be extended through the required process. | MODOC caseworker or institutional parole office |
| Detainer or added hold | The person may remain confined or transfer after one custodian ends its hold. | Holding facility and receiving custodian |
| New court order | Bond, sentence, revocation, or release authority may change. | Case.net and the court clerk |
| Parole decision | The Board may grant a future date, deny release, or set another hearing. | Missouri Parole Board or institutional parole office |
| Concurrent or consecutive term | Multiple sentence rows can alter the controlling minimum or maximum. | MODOC sentence record and judgment |
| Processing schedule | A valid local release may occur later than expected while paperwork is completed. | Greene County Jail |
Confirm Greene County Release Timing
Use the record closest to the event. For Greene County Jail, that is the Sheriff's booking and release sheet. For a state prison sentence, use MODOC's active record, historical data, institutional caseworker, or field officer as the status requires. For a Board date, use the actual notice and the institutional parole office. The Board states that a hearing is not automatic release, and a favorable date can still depend on lawful conditions and a home plan.
A local records request should identify the person, date of birth, booking or CFN number when known, and a narrow date range. Ask for the recorded release date and time, release type, and receiving custodian or destination if maintained. The Greene County Sheriff Sunshine page provides the official request route. This is especially useful when the public 30-day JailTracker window has closed or when a transfer makes the word released unclear.
For MODOC, a targeted Sunshine request can seek the public release or discharge date, type, sentence fields, and status record. The historical file may carry several rows for one DOC ID, so a single charge row should not be read in isolation. When parole is involved, the Board's actual notice matters. Official research found no public Missouri calendar of future hearings and no public decisions database. The hearing-process page says a decision commonly takes eight to 12 weeks, and an outcome can set a future date, deny release, or defer the matter to another hearing.
Missouri VINE through VINELink can add a custody-event alert when the participating agency and matched record support it. An alert is a prompt to confirm, not a certified release record. Registration and its limits are explained in the VINE Inmate Check. Federal prisoners at MCFP Springfield require the BOP locator and federal court record, not JailTracker or MODOC.
After community release, earned compliance credit under §217.703 can shorten eligible probation, parole, or conditional-release supervision. It awards credit toward final supervision discharge for compliant months. It does not move the past prison exit or compute a Greene County Jail release. Keeping those events separate prevents a supervision end date from being mistaken for a custody release date.
Note: Confirm the custodian first, because county, state, and federal systems calculate and record different forms of release.
